Kids who are involved in karate are privileged ones. This is because there are a lot of kids who are not able to enrol themselves in karate classes because of various reasons. Karate lessons are beneficial to kids. It allows them to be developed not only in their physical fitness but also with regards to their emotional and psychological aspects.

Aside from that, karate also makes sure that they are more able to escape dangerous situations as what is commonly been happening today. For a parent, karate training is like a partner in nurturing the child as a whole. It teaches character formation because naturally, each student needs to be disciplined whenever they are in and even out of the karate school. Furthermore, because karate is an exciting discipline, parents will not have a hard time convincing their kids in enrolling them. They are sure too that the children whom their own kids are mingling with are of the same good nature. This is way better than letting them watch television all through the night or play in their own computers for hours and hours.

It is an amazing fact that years ago when younger people played up or did not conform to society the most common answer was to enlist them in the defense forces (Army Navy Air force etc). This type of thinking does not seem to be in vogue any more but the violence in young people seems to be accelerating, is it the lack of discipline from an early age? What is the answer?

Around the world thousands of parents enrol their children into the martial arts all with varying reasons, the reasons vary from: teaching their children discipline, giving their child/children more self-esteem or more confidence, giving their child the ability to defend themselves, a lot of parents see martial arts as a way of keeping a child fit and keeping their weight under control.

Here is a list of 9 tips every beginner should know when starting karate lessons. If you know these tips going in you will have more knowledge than 95% of all beginners. When people first begin their martial arts training they have preconceived thoughts about what they will be doing in a typical karate class. Although the tips I mention might vary slightly between schools, if you know this information ahead of time you can’t go wrong!

1. It is common courtesy to address instructors as sir, ma’am, or sensei. By doing this you show that you have respect for the instructor and you understand the discipline side of the martial arts. Karate lessons will help you learn discipline and respect as you gain experience as a martial artist.

If you’re a resident of Boise or Eagle, then you’re a lucky person. Boise and Eagle are 2 cities, unlike many others around the country. Very few cities have such a high density of child centered activities. Everything from dance, language, sports, arts and crafts, martial arts, etc., and all available within a 5 to 15 minute drive.

With so many activities available, what should a child participate in? That is the big question. Should you have your child do everything? And, believe me, it’s possible in Boise or Eagle. Or, should you find a couple activities and really let your child excel and build confidence?
